If you had to pick another religion to practice, what would it be
Good Lord! I spent over 20 years of my life finding the religion that fit me. I'm not giving it up (and couldn't if I wanted to - it was there all along, I just have the tools to really include it as part of my daily life now).
Do you believe there is value in suffering?
The spiritual tradition I follow places Porcupine in the South, the place of Stability, and represents lessons. The lessons we remember most are often the painful ones.
I have suffered alot, and maybe I'll find out "the reason" later, but there are a couple things where I can say with confidence that the only reason I went through it is to be able to empathize with someone else.
What has given you the most strength?
Where do you find the sacred in your life?
My personal spiritual practice.
My backyard: the trees, the weeds, the pets
The Journey itself.
What do you love most about your life right now?
I love my friendship with my husband and the peace and balance we have found amidst the chaos and uncertainty.
I love my coworkers who are like family, and my job that is varied and interesting and challenging, even though I don't get paid enough.
I love being an active part of my spiritual clan again.
I love my relationship with my daughter.
I love the routines in my life (something I never imagined myself loving for a long time... rebel me).
I love the hope I have for the future.
I love the countdown until Inauguration Day.
I love being myself.
What would you whisper as a wish for the dawning year?
What was the biggest adventure of your past year?
The whole year was a bit of an adventure, but I'd have to say getting married.
